Enhanced Specialized Services

Enhanced Specialized Services (ESS) driven by RSA clinical behaviour services provides intensive clinical support, assessment, short-term treatment and/or stabilization for individuals experiencing significant challenging behaviours. The purpose is to increase the capacity of a person’s support system by offering support to the person and their current support system, in the least intrusive way possible.

ESS is individualized to meet a person’s specific needs. Under the clinical supervision of RSA, a specially trained direct support team from a designated ESS Community Partner or Host Agency is actively involved.

The specific type of ESS provided is determined based on a clinical assessment of need.  There are 3 streams of ESS:

intrusive ESS

ESS is NOT a crisis service, emergency admission program, a long-term treatment program, or a respite program.

To receive ESS a person must already be involved with RSA behavioural services
